"Amazing" harbor views – with or without the fog – greet guests at this double-wing aerie that works for some business travelers who appreciate the "friendly and courteous" service, "terrific" breakfast buffet and location across the street from the airport; but others are not happy with this "high-end motel", citing "tired" rooms in need of better housekeeping and "overpriced" parking, Internet and coffee.

The Hotel Amenities.
Staff

After booking through Priceline, I called the hotel to confirm my reservation and was told I was given a room with a King Bed. When I arrived I was told I would need to pay an additional $20 a night if I wanted the King bed. The facilities are nice, but they will nickel and dime you for everything. ...read more

Great location, room had great view.
Would like a telephone book in the room.

Stayed in the Sheraton Bay Tower. Room was large, bed very comfortable, bathroom clean and up to date. Loved the Starbucks coffee in the room. View was overlooking the bay, with a patio we could sit any time and look at the water and city view. Excellent value. ...read more

The lobby and restaurants were high class.
Staff was not friendly at check in and our room was horrible. It had many things wrong with it, I could have found much better room for the price.

Hotel was great location with nice pool and amenities. The hotel had many towers, some were very old and not keep up with the maintenance. It was a major disappointment. We also received 2 small beds when we requested a king. The hotel would not let me check in without my wife's ID as she was flying in at later time. I was stuck for 8 hours driving around San Diego. I have done this many times in the past as my wife meets up with me when I am on business trips. This is the only time they had to confirm both guests that were staying in the hotel with Id's. I am not sure if this is a policy of the hotel or control freak check in person. Let me check in without my wife's Id's as she was flying in at later time. I also think since, I could not check in on time I received a horrible room. Would never stay at this place again. ...read more

Location, view.
Exterior facing doors, poor parking.

This only applies to the lanai section of the hotel. We were assigned a room in the lanai section of hotel. All the rooms there are outward facing, much like a motel or an inn. The rooms themselves are standard and acceptable, but the noise levels from the parking lot, thin walls and the traffic going past the door were unacceptable. The parking for that section of the hotel was also $22/night and it was impossible to find parking. Granted the hotel was sold out, but we were nonetheless unhappy. When we booked a room, there was no indication where the room was going to be. If I had known, I would not have stayed there. The hotel lobby seemed nice and the staff was generally helpful, except when we requested to change rooms. ...read more
